Background
Hyrox is a global fitness race that started in Hamburg in 2017 and has grown rapidly across the world.
Unlike CrossFit, Hyrox follows a standardized format: 8 x 1 km runs, each followed by a functional workout station. The format makes it ideal for consistent training and fair comparison across cities.
The 2025 edition of HYROX Barcelona was the third time the event was held in the city. This edition took place from April 25–27, 2025, at Fira Barcelona Gran Vía. The event attracted approximately 12,000 athletes, highlighting its growing popularity in Barcelona.
About the Project
The goal of the project was to follow a coach and his team throughout the Hyrox Barcelona event and capture footage of each member in action. The objective was to reflect both the intensity of the race and the team spirit driving their performance.
The final deliverable was a 1-minute vertical video, edited in a dynamic, high-energy style and optimized for Instagram.
My Role
I was present for one of the three days of the Hyrox Barcelona event. I moved around the venue with my camera and a selection of lenses, shooting handheld to stay flexible and responsive.
One of the main challenges was the limited public access, which made it tricky to find good angles without interfering with the race.
Another was identifying each team member in the middle of the action, as hundreds of athletes competed simultaneously.
After capturing the key moments, I edited the footage into this fast-paced 1-minute reel.
